If you can speak english continuously and express your feelings properly that would be sufficient in interviews. The accent should be slower and understandable.Thats why all the IT job interviews start with a question like"tell about yourself". Almost all interviews start with this question. How to prepare for this question in inteviews and win their favour? I suggest write down the good points about you on a paper. This list should include your name, education, experience and hobbies. Hobbies is
optional. We have to see all the things we present in our speech should be useful to the listner and pertinent to the job requirements. So carefully formulate the introduction speech and get by heart that so that you will not think what to say and how. Practice this speech many times, changing modulation and ex-pression ways. So, if you thorough with this answer, your start in the inteview would be smooth and confident. This is a good tip for job interviews.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/35891708-109956332466413998?l=jobinterviewtip.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Job Fairs Not Fair!

Interviews are conducted for different purposes and by different types of people. Job fairs are one of the types . Job fairs would be conducted in metro cities like chennai, mumbai, delhi, bangalore, calcutta. In other places also they conduct job fairs but less frequently. Two types of recruitment companies take part in these job fairs. IT companies and ITES (IT enabled companies. Satyam, wipro, infosys, HCL and other companies come under IT companies where development of software projects is the main business. ITES means, call centers, business outsourcing companies like perot systems, sutherland etc will participate. Knowledge process outsourcing companies all fall into this category. They do not develop software projects but offer services like back office maintenance, customer care and other process like HR. So both these two types of companies take part. Funniest thing happening now a days is that Most of these IT and ITES companies are participating in these job fairs with fanfare and follow up action is nil. They conduct interviews and declare some candidates selected. They even gift some articles like umbrellas, bags but forget to call the selected candidate to join. It seems they are ignoring entire process taken in selection process. They just throw the selected candidates list into dustbin and get ready for another job fair. This attitude of these companies is damaging the morality and faith of the youngsters who aspire to join their company and start their future. It is a shock for these candidates. Definitely these ITES and some IT companies are committing mistake from their side with callousness. They are paying penalty for that too. These BPOs are complaining that the employees of one BPO is also joining another BPO , simultaneously appearing in both the payroll lists . They are crying foul . But when they select a candidate, are they allowing the candidate to join immidiately? No. The candidate is left to wait few valuable months at her or his home. Meanwhile if another BPO offer appointment and allows to join can he deny the offer and wait for the first company offer which is in abeyance? so he or she joins it and when the original first company (which is liked by the candidate) calls to join, he joins the company which results in double entry in both the companies. The cheif reason for this effect is solely the ITES companies only.HCL BPO started campus interviews and recruiting freshers from remote engineering colleges. But they selected candidates and took two to three months time to send offer letter. Further they are taking 4 months more to give appointment letter. This way if they book the freshers, how can the freshers wait for half an year for a promissed job? Is it wrong if they search else where for immidiate earning? Then what happens to all the process taken up by the BPO like HCL in campus recruitments?<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/35891708-7130016516552855412?l=jobinterviewtip.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Silly questions in job interviews

Often we face with silly questions in job interviews. Because in olden days, the interview was done by a panel who know how to ask, what to see in a candidate. Now IT industries have no rules. All the management is busy with getting projects, delivering the faulty projects, settling issues with client, collecting bills by hook or crook. Now the interviewing responsibility is thrown to senior developers, who just started their career in these companies hardly 5 to 7 years back. They know nothing more than their coding and recent software development names.
They start this interview process and end up somewhere. Then how the hiring is going on.. what ever may be the answer, they will select people who could bluff in better way and recommend as per their required numbers.
silly questions why you want to change your job will be asked.. they are the people who called us for interview, well knowing that we are already working.. then what is the fun of asking why you want to change the job.. we are compelled to give ready made answer of " better prospects"<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/35891708-2235899676327682496?l=jobinterviewtip.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Present day job interviews

Now the job interviews for IT and ITES became oneway farce. It would be difficult to maintain in the long run. we have seen the dull period in the IT industry where shutters were closed around dot com blast period.
Now, big companies hire. they say this requirement to consultants. They all some how share the news. They search naukri.com etc sites, and send good applicants , who are seeking good placement to these companies. These candidates are unwanted guests to the IT company as they themselves have not called. So the interviewing method is very bad. They start with "tell about your self" common dialogue keeping our CV infront of us. 98 percent of this type of interviews will not click. important to use your resume to demonstrate how you can benefit the
company and illustrate how you have benefited other organizations or
solved problems . Include a brief one or two sentence
description of your job responsibilities, and also focus on specific
accomplishments. Instead of saying "wrote press releases and company
materials," increase your value by telling the reader that you
"developed media materials that resulted in countrywide media
            coverage."
            5. Add some hard data - Anyone can say that they were successful at
a job, but not everyone has the numbers to support their claims.
Including evidence - numbers, dollar amounts, or other hard data -
will make you stand out from the crowd.
Let us see the following two resume statements:
            A. Developed plan for new Inventory system that saved the company
            time and money.
            B. Developed and implemented warehousing system that saved company
            more than $300,000.
first statement provides an accomplishment, but the second one will gain more
attention from a reader, particularly a hiring manager at a company
that is interested in reducing costs.
With a little work and attention, your
resume makeover can help you go from just another ordinary candidate to the
            candidate at the top of the pack!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/35891708-116787989321535148?l=jobinterviewtip.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Resume Objective Statement

<strong>How to write Resume Objective statements: </strong>
Here we consider how to write an effective objective statement in a resume. Skills Summary: Highly experienced, talented and dependable sales manager with more than 10 years experience in the retail marketplace. Skilled in all aspects of retail management, including customer service, inventory control, employee management and accounting. Both of these introductory statements set the reader up for what is to come next. Another idea worth considering is following up your introduction statement with a bulleted list of skills or core competencies. Summarize the skills you have gained from your experience and list those at the top of your resume.

Ignorantly, some job seekers' run-of-the-mill resumes actually hurt their chances of finding the right job for them, because of their bad resume. If you have had the same resume for a long long time and just are not getting the response you had hoped for, it is definitely time for a "resume makeover." Five resume makeover tips are given here that might put you back on the right path.
<strong>Types of Resumes:</strong>
1.A resume is like an advertisement. Think about your target audience. What are you trying to sell? Yourself obviously. The first thing any advertising executives do when selling a new product is identify the target audience. When rebuiding your resume, this should also be your first and main step. Make sure each resume you send is customized to the position and the advertisement requirements. If you are seeking a sales position and the company has indicated it wants to hire someone with sales research experience, make sure you highlight that. Make it simple for the company.
2. Make sure that you have the right type of resume - There are 2 types of resume writing: <strong>Functional and Chronological</strong>. While most people are familiar with chronological resumes, that include qualifications listed by past employer in reverse chronological order, you may like to consider a functional resume instead. Chronological resumes are suited well for those with a lot of experience or those individuals on a standard career path. Functional resumes highlight your abilities than your employment history and suit for those who are re-entering the workforce, transitioning to a new field, or have often changing jobs.
In a functional resume, skills and strengthsthe are main headlines . For example, section headlines for someone looking to break into Development might be "Development Experience," "Testing Skills," and "Managerial Skills." Under each headline, list specific accomplishments and experience from previous jobs. Employment history is included in a Functional resume, but at the end of the page and is limited to company names, job titles and employment dates.
